ME2 Teng Siang Hong
Principal

ME2 Teng re-enlisted in 2022 with a Bachelor of Music (First Class Honours) from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Brett Stemple.
As a student, ME2 Teng attended the Aspen Music Festival and School and also participated in numerous masterclasses and lessons conducted by Roger Bobo, Daniel Perantoni, Sam Pilafian, Oystein Baadsvik, Roland Szenpatli, Anne Jelle Visser, Steve Rosse, James Gourlay and Perry Hoogendijk.
ME2 Teng has performed both overseas and locally with several ensembles including Windstar, Orchestra Collective, the Orchestra of the Music Makers, The Philharmonic Orchestra, the Singapore Lyric Opera, and the Bandung Philharmonic Orchestra (Indonesia). He also actively freelances with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra.
ME2 Teng also serves as Senior Instructor (Professional Education).
ME2 Shawn Yap Jiaqu
Associate Principal

ME2 Yap re-enlisted in 2022 with a Bachelor of Music in Tuba performance from the Zurich University of the Arts under the tutelage of Anne Jelle Visser.
Actively engaged in the local music scene, ME2 Yap has performed with ensembles including the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, The Philharmonic Orchestra, Windstar Ensemble, West Winds, Musicians’ Initiative, Mus Art Wind Orchestra and the Orchestra Collective, which received the first prize in Singapore International Band Festival 2012. He was also selected as the principal tubist for the ASEAN-Russian Symphony Orchestra in 2011 and the principal tubist for the Asian Youth Orchestra 2016.
As a soloist, ME2 Yap was the first brass player to clinch the first prize in the annual NAFA Music Essentials Concerto Competition in the year of 2013 and he was selected to take part in the semi-final round of the International Tuba Euphonium Conference 2016 that was held in Tennessee, America. A semi-finalist with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, he has also performed with the Musikkollegium Winterthur (Switzerland) and City Light Symphony Orchestra (Switzerland) as a guest player.
ME2 Yap also serves as Assistant Event Manager.
ME2 Kenrick Quek Tong Jie
Group Leader

Enlisted in 2017, ME2 Quek holds an Associate Diploma from the Trinity College of London. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from the Singapore University of Social Sciences.
ME2 Quek studied the tuba with Tan Yao Cong and has performed with various ensembles including the Philharmonic Youth Winds, Ventus Band and the Philharmonic Wind Orchestra. On top of his duties with the SAF, ME2 Quek serves as Section Representative and Librarian as part of the EXCO in Ventus Band, as well as Section Coordinator of the Philharmonic Wind Orchestra.
As Group Leader, ME2 Quek oversees the Human Resource Management (HRM) function of the SAF Central Band. He also serves as Assistant Chief Librarian of the SAF Band. Prior to his current appointment, ME2 Quek has served in various appointments including Publicity Specialist (2018-2023), Librarian (2019-2022) and Assistant Event Manager (2022-2023).
