ME3 Tan Yuzuo Joe

Enlisted in 2009, ME3 Tan holds a Diploma in Jazz Guitar from LASALLE College of the Arts, having studied under Rick Smith, Andrew Lim, Tim O' Dwyer and Belinda Foo.

As a guitarist, ME3 Tan leads the Combo Band and plays the guitar with the SAF Central Band whenever required, and supports the percussion section on parade. A member of the Music Composition & Arrangement Office (MCAO), he has written various works for the SAF Central Band, including the 2012 Spasskaya Tower Military Music Festival, the 2023 Virginia International Tattoo and the NDP 2023 Military Tattoo. ME3 Tan also leads the Digitalisation Team and has led numerous innovative projects, including the new Parade Music Maker software. Prior to his current appointment, ME3 Tan also spent three years as the Drum Major of the SAF Ceremonial Band. In 2023, ME3 Tan graduated from the 12/23 Joint Leadership Course (JLC) as a Distinguished Graduate.

As Group Leader, ME3 Tan oversees the logistics function of the SAF Central Band. He also serves as Associate Composer/Arranger and Sound Engineer.
