Joint Concert: In Friendship

On 22 June 2025, the SAF Central Band performed in a joint concert with The Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines Portsmouth (RM Band Portsmouth). The concert commemorated 60 years of bilateral ties between the United Kingdom (UK) and Singapore.

The concert commenced on a rousing note with the combined band performing the national anthems of the UK and Singapore.

Honorary guests include former Chief of Navy Rear Admiral (Two-Star) Kwek Siew Jin, Director Manpower (MINDEF) Mr Shaun Goh, Chairman of the SAF Music Board BG Tan Tiong Keat, and British High Commissioner to Singapore Mr Nikesh Mehta.

Director of Music (RM Band Portsmouth) Captain Matt Weites opened the first half of the concert. The combined band presented a dynamic programme featuring well-loved repertoire from both bands, alongside a showcase of their military music traditions.
