Brunei

From 6 to 10 October 2026, the SAF Central Band was in Brunei Darussalam to provide musical support for the Joint Parade marking 50 years of defence relations between Singapore and Brunei Darussalam.

Held at Muara Naval Base, the parade brought together 256 personnel from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), with our musicians supporting the ceremonial proceedings alongside their RBAF counterparts. The occasion reflects the close ties built between both armed forces over five decades of cooperation and exchanges.

The celebrations extended across land, sea, and air, with operational assets from both countries taking part in the parade, a naval sail-past, and a combined helicopter fly-past by the Republic of Singapore Air Force and Royal Brunei Air Force.

Attending as Guests-of-Honour were Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Mr Lawrence Wong and the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah.

The SAF Central Band is honoured to have contributed to this significant occasion through music and military ceremony, as the SAF and RBAF celebrate 50 years of partnership and look ahead to the next chapter of longstanding defence relations.

With the conclusion of the Joint Parade, we extend our sincere thanks to our counterparts from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Band, as well as everyone who supported the planning and conduct of the Golden Jubilee celebrations. It was an honour to contribute to this milestone occasion and to perform alongside our RBAF partners!
